A Historic Mission That Changed the Five Towns

The gedolim’s two-week mission in North America culminated in the Five Towns, where local kehillos were left deeply inspired and renewed in their commitment to sustaining Torah in Eretz Yisroel.

The Five Towns events opened in North Woodmere at the home of R’ Yisroel Chefetz, who hosted the Gedolim and spoke about the urgent need for support. Harav Moshe Hillel Hirsch shlit”a, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, stressed that Torah in Eretz Yisroel serves as the foundation for Torah worldwide, urging supporters to give “not only within their ability, but beyond their ability.”

In Woodmere, Harav Dovid Cohen shlit”a delivered a powerful drasha at Beis Knesses Mishkan Yisroel, led by Rav Doniel Rosen shlit”a, before visiting Yeshiva Gedolah of the Five Towns, where the Chevron Rosh Yeshiva addressed the bochurim with stirring divrei chizuk.

From there, the gedolim visited the home of R’ Moshe Wolfson, joined by his brother R’ Aharon and a group of devoted philanthropists. Harav Don Segal shlit”a and Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch shlit”a held private, one-on-one meetings with donors, offering individual brachos and encouragement.

The mission concluded at the home of R’ Dov Karfunkel, where Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch and Rav Don Segal discussed Keren Olam Hatorah’s mission, prompting the host and attendees their wholehearted support for the historic initiative.

With the conclusion of the final event in the Five Towns, the gedolim boarded their return flight to Eretz Yisroel, bringing to a close an extraordinary journey marked by tireless travel, countless meetings, and an outpouring of commitment from kehillos across the continent.
