Harav Dovid Cohen shlit”a, Rosh Yeshivas Chevron, visited Baltimore to launch Keren Olam HaTorah’s campaign across North America to sustain yeshivos and kollelim in Eretz Yisroel following devastating cuts in Israeli government funding.

The day began in Lakewood with Shacharis before Rav Dovid flew to Baltimore, where he was welcomed by local askanim. The first stop was a private breakfast meeting at the home of R’ Avi Bernstein, where the Rosh Yeshiva shared sobering updates about the challenges facing Torah institutions in Eretz Yisroel and emphasized the critical role American Jewry must play in bridging the gap.

From there, Rav Dovid met with additional baalei tzedakah and later addressed a large gathering at the home of R’ Gil Horwitz, co-hosted by R’ Avi Bernstein and R’ Yaakov Slone. Rav Dovid urged participants to embrace the role of Yissachar-Zevulun partners to ensure the unimpeded growth of Torah in Eretz Yisroel.

The visit also included stops at several of Baltimore’s leading yeshivos, including Ner Yisroel and the Yeshiva and Mesivta of Baltimore, as well as Kehillas Derech Chaim led by Rabbi Gross shlit”a. At each location, Rav Dovid delivered powerful divrei chizuk and provided penetrating insight into the precarious state of the olam haTorah in Eretz Yisroel.
